This LED candle with breath-activated ON/OFF function draws inspiration from the candles traditionally used on birthday cakes. By replicating the gesture of lighting the candles with a lighter and blowing them out after making a wish, this DIY project emulates that experience.

The LED candle kit consists of two distinct parts: an audio amplifier with NPN 9013 and PNP 9012 transistors, and a switch circuit that includes a photodiode and a PNP 9012 transistor.

The operation of the kit is extremely simple: in low-light conditions, the circuit, powered by a voltage between 4.5Vdc and 5.5Vdc, remains inactive. By bringing a light source close to the photodiode, such as a lit lighter, the LED light begins to flicker, simulating the flame of a candle. To turn off the LED, just like you would with a real candle, simply blow on the built-in microphone in the circuit.

Soldering is required for assembly. The kit comes with assembly instructions in English.
