Device based on the chip produced by VLSI VS1063 and managed by the microcontroller Microchip PIC32MX695F512H. It lets you sample an analog audio signal and transmit the audio stream corresponding at any room of a house or an office and in general any place, using as communication infrastructure the Ethernet network. Given the very broad range of application needs the device can meet, there is a software which allows configuration via a web interface. In fact, the module can be used not only to achieve point-to-point communication between two devices counterparts, but it is possible to realize broadcast communications from one to N devices. Moreover, the adoption of standard protocols in the field of streaming audio as SHOUTcast and IceCast makes the device compatible with the web radio and PC media players such as VLC media player of the VideoLAN. Combining several modules with a computer equipped with a media player you can cover a wide variety of applications, allowing you to transmit inside a building or outdoors their radio or notify themed real-time service messages. The audio formats supported by the module are now widespread and common MP3 and its direct competitor (royalty free) Ogg Vorbis, which makes it flexible and compatible with the needs of private users or business. Everything has been thought to be housed in a comfortable canister TEKO (model Tekal Tekal 29.11 or 11.30 - not included). It has three buttons, two indicator LEDs, two 3.5 mm stereo jacks for audio (one for input and one for output), ajumper to set the supply voltage and a door USB Host to enter a common USB (Mass Storage device). The jack accepts input signal to be sampled and transformed into streams of audio and Ethernet jack for audio output provides the extract from a stream captured from the LAN. The audio circuit is compatible with consumer audio signals at -10 dBV (nominal level of 316 mV rms) often labeled as Line-In and Line-Out (such as those found on common systems Hi-Fi). On the Ethernet side, accessible from the RJ45 connector, the card can operate at 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps, but is compatible with Gigabit (1000 Mbps) while operating at up to 100 Mbps. The type of supported devices is extensive: most part of the common keys or micro-SD USB adapters can be used without problems. Compatibility depends on the type of formatting that these devices must have mass; the software is able to recognize only FAT16 or FAT32 formats and is compatible with the long file name. |
