The NANO R4, developed by Futura Elettronica, is a compact and optimized version of the Arduino UNO R4 Minima board with the form factor of an Arduino NANO, based on the Reneas RA4M1 microcontroller. This board is designed to offer greater flexibility: the castellated holes (or plated half-holes) along the PCB edges allow for direct soldering onto the host board without additional connectors, making the NANO R4 ideal for compact projects and high-density designs. Alternatively, for those who prefer a modular approach, the included headers can be soldered on, ensuring compatibility with previous versions of Arduino Nano. An additional upgrade is the integrated Neopixel RGB LED, which can be used in various applications, such as displaying the board’s status through color changes. The NANO R4 also offers extra digital and analog I/O pins, normally unavailable, expanding the range of applications for complex projects and supporting protocols like I2C and SPI. The NANO R4 thus represents a compact, advanced solution, maintaining the reliability of the Arduino UNO R4 Minima, but with enhanced features that make it even more suitable for customized and high-density component projects. |
